Agnone's Stuffed Wafers are a unique and refined dessert typical of Agnone.
Usually, Stuffed Wafers are prepared at Christmas time, but the pastry chefs of Alto Molise produce them
throughout the year.
The Ostie are all excellent, one more mouthwatering than the other.
The wafers are very crumbly. They are made with a batter of flour, water and oil. The batter is cooked in special irons.
This produces waffles that are very white but, precisely because they are crumbly, they are very delicate.
During transport, Agnone's Ostie Ripiene may arrive at their destination with the wafer, which is very crumbly, slightly damaged.
